Planning to pursue my PhD specialising on human resource. I've been thinking of a few titles or areas of research. So, the final title is - Comparative study on human capital retention in public and private sector.
The focus of this research will be on the contribution factor of human capital retention. What are the influence factor. Will looking at the area of motivation level, human resource development, Psychology, career development and compensation package. Hopefully at the end of the study, I'll be able to be the expert on those areas.
But, do not sure whether the title is acceptble to the university or the supervisor. I foresee, even if it is acceptable, they will probably request me to only zoom in on a few area. Then, I'll need to choose either one or two from these areas.
These are the area or the influencing factors of staying put in one organisation. Some people will looking for compensation package that offered to them, some people will look at on career development, some people will look at on the training provided to them (of course this will have the relationship with career development). These three area are something that controlable by the employee. Or we can say it is a concious behavior.
The unconcious factor which may direct toward the action of unconcious behavior will be on the motivation factor and the psychology (alway have difficulty on how to spell it correctly - how can I study it if I can't even spell it). Unconcious behavior will direct the employee to remain in the organisation.
InsyaAllah, base on the research, I can conclude on the main reason behind the human capital retention, the method use to keep employee remain. Without this research, we can also guessing why people leaving but, we won't know for sure with the fact and figure to conform our conclusion.
